The thing is: it wasn't by accident that we opened the first true Brazilian Rodizio in Portugal in 1987. And it certainly wasn’t by accident that we called it Chimarrão.
Chimarrão comes from an ancient gaucho tradition, inherited from the indigenous people, and refers to a hot drink made from yerba mate, served in a peculiar container. According to tradition, the chimarrão drink is meant to be shared, in a relaxing ritual called "Roda de Mate".
And if this was what inspired the traditional Brazilian Rodizio, later it was the traditional Brazilian Rodizio that inspired our founder. For its unique quality and variety of meat. For the care with which the meat was prepared and grilled. For the rigour with which the meat was cut and served. And for the immense variety of delicious side dishes that accompanied it.And it so remains!
